about iThentic
How iThentic Works
YOU... Get inspired... Get creative... Shoot video... Submit a mobisode... Whether you've got a professional crew, a friend with a camcorder, or just want to capture a story with your cellphone video - tell a story and shoot a "mobisode" for iThentic.
WE... Pick the best mobisodes... Program iThentic's channels... and make them available to consumers and our distribution partners. We don't program everything, just the good stuff.
iThentic is an online and mobile video content company. What does that mean? iThentic aggregates, produces and distributes original, high quality, independently-produced video content on the web and to mobile devices ranging from cellphones to mobile media players and other wireless devices. iThentic is a tastemaker destination for the best independently produced video content for digital and wireless platforms.
We believe…
The exploding marketplace for online and wireless content demands new formats and ideas. The nimble production skills of independent producers - and the homegrown talents of inspired amateurs – are ideal for creating genuinely original content for the digital universe.
Not Everything. Just the Good Stuff.
Consumers are overwhelmed with video clips from uncontrolled and undifferentiated sources on the web that fail to deliver consistent, high quality content. iThentic serves as a “tastemaker” destination for independently-produced content in the chaotic world of digital video – we review everything and select the best.
What is the opportunity?
About three quarters of US internet households and almost 90% of Canadian internet households are equipped with broadband connections which enable high speed transfer of data and video files. As a result, three out of every five internet users watches online video today.
With the rollout of high speed 3G mobile networks, 45 million consumers globally are already active mobile video users -- and the U.S., the world’s largest English-language market, is just getting started. From Hollywood to Wall Street, online and mobile content are “the next big thing” for reaching new audiences, generating revenue and developing new forms of expression.
| Mobile video customers* | 2006 | 2010 |
| US | 7M | 24M |
| Worldwide | 45M | 500M+ |

What’s different about iThentic?
Unlike other online video sites, iThentic’s content is:
• Filtered: cuts through the clutter and is thoughtfully programmed
• Cleared: legal, with rights properly licensed by the content providers, to protect business partners
• Professional: well-made, adhering to technical and aesthetic standards
• Original: substantially “Made for Mobile” programming, not re-purposed
• Mobile: focused on shorter form, bite-sized content
