CFC (Canadian Film Centre) and SHORTSNONSTOP Mobile Movie Festival, presented by TELUS, announced today the winner of the fourth cycle of SHORTSNONSTOP, the year-round international short film competition showcasing short films produced for mobile and online platforms.
Chosen from 10 finalists, the $1500 prize goes to directors Phil and Olly of the UK for their comedic film The Black Hole, a narrative short depicting a sleep-deprived office worker who finds a ?black hole? while doing some late-night photocopying and suddenly, the possibilities seem endless.
Phil and Olly will be awarded $1500 and their film will be made available to TELUS’ wireless, ADSL and TELUS TV Video-On-Demand clients and at the CFC Worldwide Short Film Festival awards pre-show in June 2010.
Presented by TELUS, the SHORTSNONSTOP Mobile Movie Festival is a year-round film festival that viewers can experience anytime or anyplace. An initiative of the Canadian Film Centre?s Worldwide Short Film Festival, SHORTSNONSTOP accepts entries on an ongoing basis directly at its website – www.shortsnonstop.com. Currently in its second year, the festival awards a cash prize of $1500 each quarter to the best short film selected by an international jury of experts. The next prize date is January 15, 2010.
The nine other finalists who will also benefit from TELUS’ promotion and distribution are:

- Mike Salva of the USA for his film Back to Life
- Dan Blacker of England for his film The Lighthouse
- Alli Sadegiani of Sweden for his film Greed
- Stephen Irwin of England for his film Atomic Hubbub
- Jacob Migikovsky of the USA for his film Florentines
- Nicolas Duarte of the USA for his film Fade In
- Patrick Zimmerman of the USA for his film Bang
